ABOUT

North Durham Veterinary Acupuncture Services is located near Sunderland, Ontario, and provides acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine to small and large animals in the regions of Durham, Kawartha Lakes, and north York Region.  Small animal patients may be seen at Scugog Animal Hospital in Port Perry or at your regular veterinary clinic with prior arrangement.

Dr. Christina McRae DVM CVA

Dr. Christina McRae graduated from OVC in 1990 and practiced feline medicine at King Street Cat Hospital in Oshawa and Whitby for 20 years. She graduated from the Chi Institute in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Acupuncture in 2016, and since then has completed courses in Tui Na (massage and medical manipulation), Advanced Tui Na, Topographic Acupuncture, and The Balance System.

Juice

Juice is a 2003 Clydesdale/Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse cross gelding, and has been with Dr. McRae since 2007.  He is a patient teacher of all things equine, and is Dr. McRae's best study buddy for acupuncture and Chinese medicine.  Will do anything for peppermints.

Pecabo

Pecabo is a domestic long hair spayed female who came to Dr. McRae in 2004  at the age of 5 weeks with a badly injured eye.  She spent her convalescence with Dr. McRae at her home and never left.  Pecabo loves her job as Tui Na massage study assistant, snuggle bug, and tuna-juice disposer.
